The Sounds From The Halls of The Golden Tarp: Our Music Lineup
Our music lineup this year will kick off after the final award has been presented at around 7pm. It’s a mix of DJs, rappers and a tribute band to close us out in true Humboldt County fashion. If you haven’t checked out out the music page, take a look at the artists we have lined up and listen to a few of their songs on the playlist embedded below.
We are kicking off the music portion with singer/songwriter Finn Gruva, musically influenced by Tongen folk music, R&B classics and reggae to create his smooth sounds. Then Walter L from The Code, a new reggae band, will be performing an acoustic set for us. His music is also influenced by his Hawaiian heritage and the island sounds will get you swaying.
Then we will have members of UGP, Under Ground Posse, rapping their set with Nikkle 9 in the mix. Following them is rap group Cutthroat Mode from Oakland, CA to represent their city. Be ready to bob you head to the beats they pump out.
Up next we have the music of singer/songwriter John Streetz, who took his craft to Harlem USA and blew up the Showtime at the Apollo stage, winning 1st place on March 29th, 2017. Following him are Dirty Ratz, a hip hop group made up of band members Kush, Callous, GMG, Damien, Sonny Wong, Mr. Ocean & Ekaj. Then, to close out the night we have MuMu Crew featuring Ms.Melby & Hella Rictor with their hip hop beats to be followed by cover band Hardly Deadly to close out the evening.
Check out the playlist of artists and we’ll see you November 18th, 2017 at The Mateel!
